Northern Neck Camping Trip

We met up with Brock's family for some fun camping. All his brothers and sisters were there except his youngest sister who had just had a baby. Brock's brother's wife's family owns a house on the lake and although there were plenty of beds in the house everyone opted to sleep in tents. Both girls had so much fun and did great sleeping together in a tent. It's building my confidence that we can do this again. Here are some photo's from the trip. We had such a great time together that we are trying to make this an annual event.

May was such a busy month for us, the last several posts have all occurred during May, but probably the most special time of May was spent celebrating Lydia's birthday. We had a big family party for her...picture of that will be in another post. These pictures are of her on her birthday spend with her little family. We also went on a family camping trip the weekend of her birthday with the Winfrey family. Lydia rang in her first year with style I felt like I partied the whole month.

Daddy giving Lydia her gift, he went to the store and picked this out especially for her.

Lydia wondering what it is....

She is so excited to have a DVD player for the car!

Daddy showing Liddy how it works

Lydia approves, but is starting to wonder "where's my birthday cake?"

Lydia and her birthday cupcake

Yum, cake face

Here she is reaching for Kate's leftover cupcake, since Kate only eats the frosting and leaves the cake. It's ok cause Lydia will finish it!

I Told You!

I told you I was going to be playing catch up. I've had the best time looking through photos at my attempt in trying to get caught up, and even though I totally stink at updating this blog, I'm pretty good at getting pictures for it.

Here are a few photo's that are just sorta random. Taken in May 2010.

Kate is always such a good sport when I do my attempts to do "sister" pictures. She is always one that goes with the flow. They looked so cute this morning in their superman tee's I had to do a photo shoot, especially since daddy was also wearing his tee. You could say we are a super family cause we are. And and you can find Brock and Kate cuddled up on the couch together any given Saturday morning talking about their favorite superhero. Brock loves superman, and so does Kate. Big surprise there.

I still can't believe I have them all smiling and looking at the camera, this is one lucky shot. When you get to the Father's day post you'll recognize this picture.

I should've added these pictures to my recent Lydia post. This girl is into everything. I caught her standing on this little bike reaching up for something in her kitchen. It was too cute for me not to share this with you. I just love this child's problem solving skills.

Just another cute sister picture. I just can't get over how lucky I am to have these 2 girls and how lucky I am that they seem to totally get along with each other. They don't have many squabbles. They have different personalities but their love for each other conquers it all. My favorite is that Kate is totally protective of her little sister and always makes sure that if she gets something so does Lydia.

Strawberry Pickin Fun

Since we both work full time we really make sure that we spend the weekend having fun. Strawberry pickin is work! But with 2 little helpers it was so much fun. They didn't seem to mind the heat. The little boy with us is Kate's twin! Not really he is 2.5 weeks older then her, I've been friends with his mom Kim since before our kids were born. We were neighbor's, then they moved away, saddened by the loss of them we decided to move and a year later we are neighbors again. They just had a new sister join their family so I gave the mom a break and he came along with us.

Lydia was the biggest helper she stood in one spot and picked what she could see and ate all her pickins right there. I'm sure she ingested tons of bug guts, and dirt. Oh well, you are only 1 once.

We had to take a wagon ride out to the strawberry fields and here are the kids goofin off.

I love this one of Lydia looking at C- he was such a ham btw, I can hardly get Kate to even look at the camera and I could hardly get C to stop posing for the camera

A cow train ride, they had SO MUCH FUN on this thing

My favorite thing is this air pillow and huge trampoline basically it was so much fun to act like a kid again on this

Little Trouble Maker

Liddy is our little trouble maker, she is all smiles all the time but it's because she is always into something. She is famous for her smirkey smile. Lydia loves to toddle around looking for somthing to destroy. So one day while I was cooking dinner she toddles in covered in paint, with her little smirkey smile. My camera was right there so I snapped a picture but I was not happy. She was wearing probably one of my favorite all time outfits that was a handme down from Kate. Kate wore it for 6 months or so and didn't manage to get even one stain on it, the first day Lydia has it on and she gets paint all over it, which I couldn't get out and eventually just had to throw the outfit away.

Here's a cute picture of the girls, I love how Lydia just backs herself up and takes a seat in the window seal.

Isn't this a nice way to be greeted in the morning! That's right one morning Brock went to go get Lydia out of bed and this is what he found. A happy poopy baby. It was a mess and it was every where, every part of her crib had some smear of it. But look how happy she is! This was definatily a job for the daddy. He tackled it like a pro washing her off in the laundry room utility sink.

Father's Day

Father's day was a lot of fun this year for me for some reason. I've always enjoyed celebrating Father's day because Brock is such an awesome dad. But this year I felt like the girls were able to help more with daddy's gifts and it just made it fun for me. BTW I had to bragg on Brock because he gets complimented all the time by my friends, family and random people how great of a dad he is. Seriously people are always telling me how they really think Brock is such a great dad. He really is an awesome dad, he's a fun dad, warm and loving, generous and he'll tell you that he absolutely LOVES being a dad more then he could've ever imagined.

Here's the dad at Father's day with the gifts from his girls

We made him a cute little picture frame with one of my all time favorite pictures of him and the 2 girls. I also got him a new GPS to replace his old one which was having some problems.

Why Hello There

I don't even want to look at the date of my last post. You don't know how many times I've wanted to sit down and give the Winfrey family update and it seems like there are a million distractions. Tonight is no exception except I'm doing a diet game with a group of people and one of the requirements is to work on a good habit each day. Well here is my good habit, I'm updating the blogs. Most of you don't know that I have 2 other blogs besides this one. A cooking one with all my favorite recipes and a weight loss one, at this point it's for my eyes only but who knows some day I might make that one public especially now that I've teased you with it. I have a ton of stuff to update you all with. You missed Easter, Lydia walking....at 10months, running by 11 I've got the video for proof which was one thing I wanted to get up here, you missed Lydia's birthday, father's day and I'm sure a ton of other stuff which I hope and I can get you all updated with by then end of my round of habits....ends on Aug 1st!

Well I'll start with this past weekend. July 4th was fantastic. We had a 3 day weekend and it flew. Saturday we went to the town parade. We just moved to this small town (I won't say the name since this is a public blog) but lets just say they celebrate the 4th in style. The parade was so much fun. We then hit the pool for an hour while we waited for it to get dark to see the fireworks. It was awesome that all we had to do is walk to the back of our neighborhood to get a front row view of the fireworks. And for a small town our fireworks rivaled some of the bigger towns fireworks around here. I was SO impressed and look forward to it next year.

The beginning of the parade, it gave me goosebumps

Kate showing off her loot, they passed a lot of candy she was storing it in her bug collection container which have never held any real bugs because she is too scared of real bugs!

The only picture I have of Lydia at the parade, I wish she was looking at the camera

Sunday the actual 4th was spent with family and celebrating my birthday ( a little late but better then never). We did fireworks at nana's house and headed home. It's a 2 hour drive for us. We caught about 4 firework displays on the ride home which was such a fun way to celebrate the 4th.

On the drive down Kate and Lydie were holding hands, it was so cute but by the time I got my camera out and snapped the picture they were sorta over it and of course got the uncutest looks on their faces, trust me they were really cute doing this.

Monday we decided to venture into the big city. We don't head very often into the big city because we aren't big city type people but felt that once every 7 years (I think that is the last time we were in the big city) wouldn't hurt us. We went to the Natural History museum and you would think that by Kate's reaction we were at Disney world. She lite up at everything she saw, it was fun to see her so excited about this stuff. Probably the coolest display we saw was a room full of butterflies. There were tons of them, fluttering about, it was so surreal and very peaceful and VERY BEAUTIFUL. Kate was in butterfly heaven but what was so cute was watching Lydia getting excited over these little creatures. We saw some of the coolest butterflies, and they all seemed to have their own personalities. Some were friendly, some were shy, some were scared and some were big show offs. I'm unhappy to report that our family was the cause of one butterfly casualty that had some of us in tears. (uh hum...daddy)

Kate loved the ocean display
